ABOUT PHUKET THAILAND
Set in the Andaman sea Phuket Island Province is around 48 kilometers long and 21 kilometers wide and covers an area of approximately 590 square kilometers if its 39 other small islands are included.
Phuket is Thailand’s largest and most visited island holiday destination for divers
and non divers alike. Phuket is connected to Thailands mainland at Phang-Nga Province
to the north of the island, by the 300 metre long Sarasin bridge.
The island is charaterised by the lush green tropical palm and rubber trees that cover much of the islands interior and the many wonderful tropical beaches and holiday resort towns, that offer visitors here everything expected of one of the worlds premiere holiday diving destinations.
CLIMATE
There are only two seasons in the Phuket weather cycle-the green season (rainy) from
May to October and the hot season from November to April. This so called ‘hot’ season
is the best time of year for the diver to visit Phuket, with average temperatures
ranging between 23C nighttime and 33C daytime. Although the diving off Phuiket is
good all year round, this time of year sees the opening of the Similans National
Marine Park to divers after thier closure, due to poor sea conditions in the Andaman
sea during the green season.
